Optimising Obstetric Outcome was a very successful conference conducted under the aegis of FOGSI on
topics of everyday practice  like Operative Obstetrics and Fetal Growth restriction were covered in the workshops. Pioneers in Ultrasound like Dr. Suresh, Dr. Ramamurthy  were part of fetal growth workshop. Dr. Gomathy Narayan and Dr. L Krishna were part of Operative Obstetrics workshop. It was well received by the delegates.
 We were fortunate to have Dr. Diago Ayres who gave Keynote address on Intrapartum fetal surveillance followed by oration by FOGSI President, Dr. Nandita Palshetkar on Respectful Maternal Care.
The conference was inaugurated by Dr. Sacchidanand, Vice Chancellor, RGUHS.  The FOGSI CSR Awardees were honoured by Dr. Nandita Palshetkar and Dr. Hema Divakar.
The main attraction of the event was the leadership summit, which was initiated by Dr. Sheela Mane and it was attended by most of the fogsi office bearers.  The talk on MMR in India, Confidential review of maternal deaths in Kerala, Confidential near miss review was given by Dr. Mandakini Megh, Dr. V P Paily, Dr. Rajshekaran Nair. The talk focussed on how to bring down maternal mortaility in India. This inspired many from other states to replicate the model.
Dr. Jaya Narendra and Dr. Nandita Palshetkar chaired the session and added their inputs to the topics.
There was panel discussion on  Anaemia in Nutrition. 
The next day started with breakfast session.  Titled “chai pe charcha,” topics such as, Sepsis bundle, PPH, Drugs in obstetrics, Thyroid in pregnancy, and anticoagulants in pregnancy were discussed.
The session were highly interactive and well appreciated.
There were 4 keynote addresses by Dr. Kamini Rao, Dr. Evita Fernandes, Dr. Alpesh Gandhi and Dr. Suchitra Pandit.
The star attraction was the session on videos of surgeries/procedures, performed by the faculty who presented was feast to the eyes of the delegates. This was followed by panel discussions on critical care in obstetrics and court dialogues 
The conference went live on Face Book page which is first of its kind in FOGSI BSOG conference.
